Davie County Recreation and Parks

“We interviewed three companies for our selection of Construction Manager at Risk and chose Davie Construction Co. We believed that as Davie County residents, they would take pride in making the Davie County Community Park, built for and by the people of the County, the best it could be. They proved this every step of the way."

“It was a very complicated project that involved new construction and renovation of the former high school built in 1956. There were many amenities requested specifically by the residents. The Construction Manager at Risk delivery method requires an exceptional amount of teamwork, and the Davie Construction Co. group was always available with suggestions and solutions to help us make the best decisions for all. Their preconstruction process was particularly effective as it helped us focus on cost estimation and allowances to ensure we had everything covered.

The success of this project is evidenced by the way the park has been a lifesaver for so many local families and visitors who have found it to be a safe recreation destination during the pandemic. From a different perspective, we recently received our final Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PART) closeout letter. This confirms that we completed all the invoice documentation necessary for the NC state-issued grant that helped us fund a significant part of the Park. Meticulous record-keeping by the Davie Construction Co. team made this possible. It is a reason for celebration because there are only a handful of large PARTF projects that reach completion within one year without RRS/State questions or requests for clarifications. Most take the full three years to complete. I am thankful and beyond grateful for such a team effort!”
