Project Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the Project Superintendent and/or field workers activities. This includes but shall not be limited to: determining methods of construction, assessing manpower levels, determining material needs and purchase quantities, equipment needs, temporary power sources, establishing project work schedule and responsible for final approval of actual hours worked by company and temporary employees.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E Contacts, to facilitate construction activities and create positive relationships that leads to future work opportunities.
- Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of the on-site Superintendent, informed subcontractor and vendor selection, proper resolution of job issues and changed conditions, to ensure that the project is completed on schedule, within budget and in full accordance with the contract requirements.
- Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Clients.
- Establish the value and scopes for all subcontractors and vendors and write all subcontracts and purchase orders required, assuring that all are in full adherence to the contract documents.
- Must have a working knowledge of project requirements and estimating, sufficient to help estimating during the preconstruction phase and in establishing of the values for any change orders.
- Must establish and maintain the project schedule utilizing the company’s scheduling software.
- Responsible for the completion of final punch list items on projects.
- Essential to offer effective levels of customer service to create client satisfaction.
- Contributes to the efficient day-to-day operation of Davie Construction, and supports the work of management and other staff.

Job Specifications
- Education/Experience – Four year Construction Management degree or equivalent, plus extensive experience and knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required.
- Certificates/License Requirements –Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must have a minimum of 10 hour OSHA Training.
- Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business forms, journals, technical drawings, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Can multi-task and Prioritize.
- Computer Skills – Ability to use computer. Knowledge and experience in Word and Excel. Knowledgeable in Viewpoint Software. Proficient in Microsoft Project.
- Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Person in this position needs to be able to move about a job site location and inside the office.
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder at job site location
- Be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with other employees.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions
