Job Type: Full-time

Summary

Schedule, coordinate and provide overall supervision and control on site. This will include field employees’ activities, jobsite deliveries, vendor/supplier relations, subcontractor control, and overall site planning and management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise the activities of all onsite Davie employees and field workers activities. This includes but not limited to: determining means and method of construction, manpower requirements, material needs, equipment needs, temporary utility needs, maintaining the work schedule and responsible for documenting actual hours worked by all subcontractors, and company and temporary employees.
  • Schedule and coordinate all work to assure full compliance with all contract requirements and the overall project schedule.
  • Verify that all delivered materials are in conformance with the approved submittal data and the contract requirements.
  • Provide all the on-site quality control for the project including the coordination of all testing, materials confirmation, conducting and documenting all pre-work meetings, and verification of all work quality.
  • Provide weekly the detailed look ahead scheduling for all job activities using the overall project schedule as basis.
  • Maintain all for construction and as built drawings throughout the duration of the project.
  • Coordinate assigned work of the various trades, Davie workers, and other contractors.
  • Maintain liaison with designers, pre-construction (estimating), owner representatives, building officials, and operations management to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems, including helping to maintain the project issues list and field generated RFI’s, (lack of productivity, work interfaces, conflicts etc.) as required.
  • Coordinate with inspections department having jurisdiction over project.
  • Monitor and assure employee’s and subcontractor’s compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Maintain communications with all members of the construction team to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., required for proper project completion and maintenance of project schedules are adhered to.
  • Perform additional assignments as may be directed by upper management.
  • Reconcile credit card statements before the 25thof each month.
  • Responsible for maintaining neat, clean, and organized job site, office area, and company vehicle.
  • Responsible for maintaining the established job schedule, monthly completions goals and budgets.
  • Maintain official daily reports and OSHA required documentation logs.
  • Maintain storm water inspections and documentation as required.
  • Always provide levels of customer service that create client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of Davie Construction and supports the work of management and other staff.
  • In steel that Safety is the responsibility of each and every employee and worker.

 

Job Specifications

  • Education/Experience – Two-year Construction related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience. Four years Supervisory experience in similar facility construction. Proficient in the technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required. Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, OSHA compliance (required 30 HR training) and ability to control and supervise large groups.
  • Certificates/License Requirements – Must have a valid Driver’s License with no encumbrances.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business forms, journals, technical drawings, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Can multi-task and prioritize.
  • Computer Skills – Ability to use a computer, I-pad, and I-phone. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Vista Management, Excel, and Project is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Person in this position needs to be able to move about a job site location.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder at job site location
  • Be able to operate a computer and other office hardware
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with other employees.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must tolerate being exposed to outdoor weather conditions
